Art and Lodging

The other visitors were very quiet. The house is super cool with the original molding flooring woodwork etc but has been restored. My room had a skeleton key and i couldnt figure out how to make it work and was too scared i would either lock myself in or out so i didnt use it and just trusted nobody would mess with anything. Nobody did. The water runs hot just fine, you just have to let it work its way up the pipes from downstairs where ever the hot water heater is. Nothing im not used too in my own house. My room did have a portable ac unit, ceiling fan, and small portable fan. I had to park on the street but my rental car was fine. Theres a really neat museum half a block down the street altho i wasnt able to visit it. Theres a really cute zoo not far away too. It starts with a P but i cant remember what its called.

The kitchen had everything you would ever need to cook a meal, pantry space for goods and a full size fridge. There was complimentary coffee pods and some snacks which was nice. The parking was ample on the street during my stay. The rest of the house was beautiful but during this trip I was not really there to enjoy any of the lounge areas. The area where the house was located was quaint and historic and I never felt unsafe as a single traveler. The room had ample space for stuff and a large closet and the 1/2 bath inside the room was nice to have for privacy. The. only knock I would have is that the thermostat is locked by passcode so when I arrived at the end of the day to go to bed the house was over 80 degrees and the room was so hot. I would prefer to be able to just adjust a thermostat but fortunately I did have a number for the owner and texted them and they turned on the AC within a couple of minutes. It just took a long while to cool down and trying to sleep was a little difficult that one night. Overall it was a really nice place to stay and convenient to ND and other areas of South Bend and the house itself was gorgeous with all of the historical woodwork, HUGE pocket door, and beautiful foyer entry doors but I am in that business and recognize those things. Charming staircase in the back from the bedrooms directly to the kitchen was also nice.
