We were traveling through this area as we drove across France and needed a place for the night. What a delightful discovery! The family living in the farmhouse in this picturesque land of rolling hills and valleys has renovated an old farm building into a gorgeous little stone dwelling: just a bedroom and bath, designed with top-quality materials and style in stone and wood, as nice as a luxury hotel room. It also has a small dining table inside as well as outside on the deck with a view across the valley. It's heavenly! We were greeted and shown where to park by the delightful mother of the proprietor. You enter the property through the woodshed, which makes it a bit hard to find since you can't see the front door. We had arranged to have dinner there for an extra charge, so this lovely lady cooked us local, homegrown food for a delicious meal on the balcony. This area of the Auvergne is so beautiful--I would love to return and stay longer.It was quite a treat!
