Gabaa Resort & Spa - Habarana

What a wonderful place! From the moment I arrived and was welcomed with a fresh beetroot juice, I knew I was going to enjoy my stay at Gabba Resort & Spa. The whole property has such a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere and was a lovely place to unwind. My individual hut was beautiful, comfortable and private, with lots of character. I especially loved the gorgeous outdoor-style shower in the bathroom – such a lovely feature and perfect for the tropical surroundings. The accommodation felt peaceful and surrounded by nature, while still having everything I needed for a very comfortable stay. I also visited the spa next door, which was a fantastic experience and one of the highlights of my stay. It was incredibly relaxing and very reasonably priced. I particularly loved the steam room, with fresh leaves covering the floor and the beautiful natural aromas filling the room. It was such a unique experience and made the whole treatment feel very authentic and special. The staff were wonderful throughout my stay – genuinely friendly, welcoming and always happy to help. Nothing felt like too much trouble. Considering the quality of the accommodation, the beautiful surroundings, the spa experience and the level of service, I thought Gabba Resort & Spa offered fantastic value for money. I travelled around Sri Lanka and stayed in many different places during my trip, and Gabba Resort & Spa was the best place I stayed during my entire trip. That says a lot, as Sri Lanka has some truly beautiful accommodation!

My only regret is that I didn’t stay longer in Habarana! It was one of those places where you immediately feel relaxed and wish you had booked another night or two.

Die Zimmer, das Bad und die Terasse sind sehr schön eingerichtet. Der Garten ist grün und die Wasserqualität im Pool sauber.

Der Preis entspricht einem gehobenen Hotel. Im Gästeservice haben uns aber die vielerorts erlebte Freundlichkeit und Insidertips gefehlt. Das englische Frühstück bestand aus ungesunden Sachen, sri-lankisches war o.k. Sehr gut war es im nahe gelegene Cafe „KAFE“ .

Very green garden, nature feeling. Catch a sight of some animals. Cute apartments. Friendly staff. Loved it.

Simple pool

GABAA clearly works hard to have a lovely place. But for us it gave us glamping vibes for a high price. The room is lovely and the shower area does give that beautiful shower with nature vibes. On another note - lovely expectional breakfast. Unfortunately, this hotel was not for us though.

- Swimming pool had insects in it and loads of ants on the outside. I was bitten by something whilst at the pool. It is also very small. - Like all places in sri lanka expect insects lizards in your room/shower and in the surrounding area. - hard to communicate due to language even if I did use google translate. - birds/squirrel nest in the roof kept us up with noise. - unless you have a eye mask the room we had was lite up due to lack of blinds/curtains for all windows.
