The location is fine. It takes about an hour and twenty on the metro to get to Central Park. It’s a bit of a rougher area but we had no truly negative experiences, I just wouldn’t flash your cash. The price was ok for New York. I think with a little more cleaning and a bath mat in the bathroom this could be a fine property.

Overall I’d describe the property as unpleasant. Upon arrival, we were sent to a room with a broken fan in an underground space. We were told that the fan had just been broken by the previous user, but the amount of dust collected on top implied it had been that way for some time. When we were moved to a nicer room, I believed the stay would improve, but although the space was an improvement, the ‘prepared’ bed had hair on it, a musty smell that only went away when we turned the AC on and sheets that were clearly blood red to hide previous stains (although they were slightly unsuccessful. Then, we tried to use the light and unfortunately it flickered on and off constantly, only to stop working altogether by the next morning, meaning the main source of light for us was a bedside lamp. Other pain points of the room - Cracked Mirror - Extremely creaky floor boards - Mattress that sinks in a strange and uncomfortable way The stay was not then helped by the bathroom or kitchen. No bath mat meant the floor felt extremely dangerous to walk on after a shower, facilities were a little dirty and when another guest shed ungodly amounts of hair it remained in the plug for both nights of our stay. In the kitchen, surfaces were dirty and tables were oddly laminated, and somehow the property didn’t have a bottle opener.
