Michelangelo Grand Hotel

The location was perfect for sightseeing. The room clean and very comfortable. The breakfast had a fantastic choice of food. The staff were friendly and helpful. The beer spa was great. The lounge in the evening was relaxing, with quality wines to choose from.

It was so close to all the main sites in Old Town, Prague

My room had a staircase to the bed on a mezzanine deck…. not very convenient for getting to toilet facilities during the night!

What I liked The hotel has an excellent location in central Prague, close to Franz Kafka’s Rotating Head, Národní třída, public transport, shops, restaurants and many attractions. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful. Any issues we reported were handled quickly. The room was cleaned every day, and the housekeeper did a good job. Breakfast was good, and bottled water was replenished daily. Tea and coffee capsules were also provided in the room.

What I didn’t like In my opinion, the hotel does not fully match the standard I would expect from a 5-star Grand Hotel. The interiors feel worn and dated. There are visible signs of wear, cracks, stained carpets and old bathroom fixtures. The hotel would benefit from renovation. The check-in experience was quite basic. We arrived before the official check-in time and were offered luggage storage, but there was no offer of water, no comfortable waiting area suggested and no recommendations on where we could spend a couple of hours before the room was ready. Some details in the room also felt below five-star standards. Towels were not changed every day, slippers were replaced only once during our week-long stay, bathrobes were not changed, and some additional items had to be requested from reception. The wardrobe was also very impractical and too small for three guests staying for a week. Overall, the staff and location are very good, but the condition of the hotel and some aspects of the service did not meet my expectations for a 5-star Grand Hotel. I would probably not stay here again.
