Ponta Mar Resort

Location, right on the beach. Aircon and heating in the room. Good food at good prices. Shuttle from the airport was reliable. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lots of place to stay in Ponta do Ouro, l would choice this 4star again. Thanks for the rebooking.

More reliable Wifi in the room. Not having a safety deposit box in the room.

Neat and clean

The beds are very hard, rather have decent mattress and charge R100 a day more.

We loved our stay at Ponta Mar Resort for the most part. We needed to stay an extra night before our original booking and they were able to accommodate us and the room was very clean and comfortable. And the access to the beach and the breakfast was great.

The room we moved to for our original booking had issues with hot water and we had to ask for repairs twice. The housekeeping staff was not very accommodating as they kept coming back to ask if they could clean the room and when we finally left they never came back to do a thorough cleaning. After asking the reception for them to clean the room, they only changed our towels and left everything else as is...which was quite disappointing.

The gentleman at reception is fantastic and is a fantastic assest to this establishment. The location is also great - within walking distance of grocery stores, beach and many bars.

1. The units have to share a braai. 2. This estblishment isn’t equipped to be self catering. 3. Some individuals and large tour groups that book with this hotel have no regard for other guests. Blaring their music at excessive levels, screaming and drinking beyond what's reasonable. Management HAS to take some form of responsibility of who they allow on to the property and if resort rules aren't being adhered to that there is some form of consequence. Thankfully the gentleman at reception tried his best to accommodate us, but the owner(s) has to step up and support their staff when it comes to enforcing reasonable rules.
