My group and I were ready to stay at the home. The whole group that were ready to stay there are Ceremonial Guardsmen for the Airforce meaning we give military honors to fallen soldiers, veterans, etc. Last minute we tried to cancel and get a refund because we were called to perform honors for a fallen soldier. The homeowners refused to give us a refund even though they knew of our situation. We told them we could provide proof of the military orders if needed. All they said was they can’t give us refund and they hope we enjoy our stay even though they knew we couldn’t be there because we would be busy on military orders honoring a fallen American soldier.

We arrived a little bit after the designated check in time to a completely TRASHED house. Looked like a huge house party had been there and cleaners hadn't come. It was filthy, with garbage everyhwere. I totally understand that sometimes happens, and the hosts were so kind to get the cleaners over there and get the house cleaned. They even refunded our first night because of the inconvenience. However, we had driven all day and had a cooler full of wonderfully prepared food for the weekend, and I texted the hosts and told them that even though the cleaners were coming, the food in the refrigerator was ours. The text wasn't read in time and the hours of shopping and preparation was all THROWN AWAY while we left the house for the cleaners. The hosts kindly offered to pay for the food to replace it, but they never did. Its unfortunate that this happened because the hosts were really great, but it really did put a huge damper on our trip. We vacated the house that sleeps 14 for several hours so that the cleaners could come. They did a fine job cleaning up, but its hard to UNSEE the mess that was there before. They gave us one roll of TP for 14 guests, and a few towels. One of the beds in the basement was totally broken when we came before it was cleaned. Its hard to unsee what it was like. However, the house truly did accomodate 14 people even though its a small house. There were 2 bathrooms and plenty of pillows and places for our family to crash.

Property did not live up to description. Yard was unkept and not usable or comfortable to relax in. Inside of the house was fine. Some cleaning needed to be done. Towels were wet when we checked in. The AC ran all day but the house wouldn’t cool down, Temp inside would go up with the AC running.

Although it was comfortable enough, the house was not incredibly clean so we tried to leave it cleaner than we found it. I reported when we left that the garbage disposal was broken so food got left. The kitchen is very small with room for only 1 person to cook. My 21 YO grandson told me when we left that he spotted mouse droppings in the basement (where ALL the children were sleeping). Had I known about the mice, we wouldn’t have stayed. The back door didn’t lock all the way closed either. This was our first vrbo stay as a family so we will take what we learned to do it again!
