They should list all the taxes and fees in the booking. I booked the room for 120 CAD, after taxes and fees it was supposed to be 160 CAD approximately. The email message from Priceline confirmed that. I suppose the customer service was being provided by booking - so Priceline booked via Booking. First, in the email, he mentioned that payment should be in cash. Then, when I received a message about when I would be reaching. I replied in an hour, around 2:45pm. I went to the house to see a paper asking me to call him or send him a WhatsApp message. Do not rent here if you are an international traveler and will not have phone or whatsapp message. It was a nightmare to check in. I then drove to the nearby Indian restaurant and asked them to allow me to make a call. During the call, he increased the price to 185 CAD. And, blamed me for not having a working phone or WhatsApp. Nowhere in the message it was mentioned that there would be so much bureaucracy to checkin. I have traveled to many countries and you pay via a credit card and checkin via a lockbox. He has a lockbox but has an ultra-bureacratic and uncertain checkin. I said that he needs to give me a receipt if I am paying cash and he refused to do so. I do not know what the reason for this is but usually receiving payment in cash and not giving receipt means you are trying to hide something, not pay taxes, or whatever. It was bizarre. Finally, I drove to a Tim Horton nearby, got an internet connection and he basically insisted on me paying the higher amount. To his credit, it seems Booking sent him an email that said that he should collect the taxes from me. If that is so, then Booking should have informed me the same. They did not. Something he has set up that is causing this weird problem. It would have been much easier to pay by credit card and use the lockbox to checkin. Anyway, given this, if you are an international traveler not sure about your phone and internet connection, do not book here.
