The old Hotel is beautiful from the outside and inside (hallways). The appartment has assigned private parking in front of the door which is very handy. The apartment is very nice (new fold out bed which isn't in the pictures) and has everything you need and the best thing about it is the tiny balcony (big enough for breakfast for two) with the amazing views. We didn't want to leave... It is quite hilly and the roads are small aroud the building so we didn't walk too much, however there is Boulangerie close by (5 min walk). Menton is a beautiful city with very friendly people, so much more "real" than Cannes, Nice or Monaco although all are very close by if you want to visit. There is a beautiful walkway along the shore from Cap-Martin to Monaco which we highly recommend. Bring water though as there is not much along the way. Also recommend visiting Roquebrune which is a small beautiful town literally built into the rocks with amazing views. We would defintely return. Please respect the neighbours as most people are retired locals who live there. Most are very friendly and loved talking to us.

I had especially booked this apartment with a bedroom and a sofa bed as I was travelling with my 25 yr old son. When we arrived we found out that not only was the sofabed not made, there were no sheets for it in the apartment. Very strange to not have this available as not everyone who travels together are a couple. Women or men friends/family travel together and don't want to share a bed, this seems quite logical to me. Unfortunately when we found out the agency who manages the apartment had already closed so we didn't get any until the next day. Do be aware that you have to pick up the keys from the agency during their opening hours (10 min drive from the apartment) and drop them there after check out as well. They also take a Euro 300 deposit for any damages either by cc or bankcard. The upside of having a local agency is that people answer you when you have questions which Booking barely ever does. Must say the owners of the agency seemed very involved and concerned with supplying good service, the young girl at the desk working on her homework, a little less so.
