Thornton's Sea View Cafe & Guesthouse

They gave me a room upgrade with a bigger bed, room and bathroom inside. Nice view and nice to have chairs, sofa and swing outside. Friendly staff. Mosquito net. My room was next to the reception - wifi worked very well. I just came for 1 night since I had an early ferry to catch and it was easier to reach than from San Juan.

Walking up the road... but most people have motorbike so it is okay even though the road is not in thr best shape. Noodles overcooked, some food a bit expensive.

The fresh air and calm mountain. The staffs are very kind. It’s cheap.

Wifi, weak wifi in the room.

Immediately, we felt relaxed and at home; with the lovely owner, inviting me to take a comfortable seat (which there are MANY of in her restaurant), getting me a cold class of water and saying “welcome, your home!” If we didn’t have limited time to explore Siquijor, I would have sat up there all day on the mountaintop, enjoying the amazing views, listening to the birds, cuddling the cat and eating their delicious food. I couldn’t help but smile there! Booked for one night and immediately extended. The views are beautiful, but what really makes this place is the energy and how I soon felt I could call the owner ‘Aunty.’ We would really take our time at breakfast because we didn’t want to leave the little oasis! And leaving was even harder. I’ll be back though.

They try their best to get the best outcome for any situation. - Owner Anne is reliable and available to contact any time of the day, offers a bike rental ans helps out where she can - the view is amazing - unlimited cool drinking water

(Maybe this was particularly to our room, however): - the sheets were fresh, however, the rest of the room had spider webs, particles from insects that came through the roof - no sink, poor shower and water pressure, just a raw toilet seat with no „ring“ to sit on - no Wifi - the look didn‘t function as you could just push the door open - the fan was very dusty and frankly, useless - no AC - DO NOT be afraid of insects - the hut was built very provisionally
