Jawakara Islands Maldives

We had a truly wonderful honeymoon experience at Jawakara Maldives. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly warm, friendly, and helpful, always making us feel welcome and well cared for. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable, the sea was absolutely beautiful, and the facilities offered everything we needed during our stay. There were also plenty of activities to enjoy throughout the day, so we always had something to do while still having enough time to relax and enjoy the island. What stood out the most was the kindness and hospitality of the entire team. Everyone was genuinely helpful and always greeted us with a smile, which made our stay feel even more special. Overall, Jawakara gave us an unforgettable honeymoon experience. It was a beautiful, relaxing, and truly memorable stay, and we are very happy that we chose it for such a special trip.

One area that could be improved is the variety of food available at the buffet. While the quality was good, we felt that having a wider selection would have made the dining experience even better. Also, the snacks served at the bars, such as sandwiches, were a little small in portion size. Slightly more generous portions would have been appreciated, especially during the day between meals.

Unser Erlebnis mit Jawakara begann bereits, bevor wir die Insel überhaupt erreicht hatten. Nach einer anstrengenden Reise durch Indien kamen wir am 27. September am Velana International Airport an und wurden dort sofort von einem Mitarbeiter des Jawakara-Teams empfangen. Von diesem Moment an wurde sich um alles gekümmert. Wir wurden durch den gesamten weiteren Ablauf begleitet, verbrachten eine kurze und angenehme Zeit in der Lounge am Wasserflugzeug-Terminal und kurz darauf waren wir bereits auf dem Weg nach Jawakara. Sowohl die gesamte Anreise als auch unsere Abreise eine Woche später waren perfekt organisiert. Man muss sich eigentlich um fast nichts selbst kümmern. Im Resort angekommen, wurden wir herzlich von unserem Host Mohamed begrüßt, der sich während unseres gesamten Aufenthalts wunderbar um uns gekümmert hat. Er organisierte Reservierungen für uns, beantwortete jede unserer Fragen und war immer erreichbar, wenn wir etwas brauchten. Er ist wirklich einer dieser Menschen, bei denen man merkt, dass sie lieben, was sie tun. Immer freundlich, aufmerksam und einen Schritt voraus. Mohamed war für uns einfach der perfekte Host und hatte einen großen Anteil daran, dass diese Woche für uns so besonders war. Wir wohnten in einer Mabin Beach Pool Villa und waren absolut begeistert. Die Villa war makellos sauber, wunderschön gelegen und bot sehr viel Privatsphäre. Unser eigener Pool war Gold wert für entspannte Nachmittage, und nur wenige Schritte vom wunderschönen, glasklaren Meer entfernt zu sein, machte die Lage für uns nahezu perfekt. Jawakara selbst ist traumhaft. Das Resort ist relativ groß, aber durch die Art, wie es angelegt ist, fühlte es sich zu keinem Zeitpunkt überfüllt an. Während unseres gesamten Aufenthalts war es unglaublich ruhig und privat. Mit dem Fahrrad über die Inseln zu fahren, wurde schnell zu einem Teil des Erlebnisses – es hat einfach etwas Besonderes, mit dem Fahrrad über eine tropische Insel zu fahren, umgeben von Palmen und Meer.

It is a beautiful resort with white beaches and clear blue water, palm etc. just as you immagine the maldives. The food, no matter what is amazing and you have so so much to chose from every meal. There are some amazing snorkeling spots just around the islands where you can see small sharks, rays and turtles very close to the beach. The resort offers a lot of activities to chose from as well so getting bored can be easily avoided. The gym on mabin island is one of the best gyms we have ever seen in a resort or hotel. We had a beach pool villa which was big, climatised and gets cleaned twice per day if you want. Beside your own pool you have your own small beach access and since the neighbours villas don't touch yours it is very nice and quiet. Even though the resort is quite big you still feel like on a quiet paradise island. The staff is very nice as well. You will have an island host that will be your direct contact person during your stay. Shout out to Nipun who took great care of us and always made everything possible to make our time as great as possible. The waiters and kitchen stuff are also very nice. Especially Govin and Agung where always there for us, so caring and friendly that we want to mention them here as well as Yousuf from the kitchen stuff. We also had great activities with Raxnee, Fainaan, Habeeb, Aslam as guides and boat crew. Thank you all for making our stay as nice as it was.

Sadly there where some downsides as well that can not stay unnoticed if you pay for a five star resort. The first thing is that the resort creates his own time zone by making everybody add one hour to the local time and oprating by that. The given reason is easier organisation of seaplanes as well as nice sunsets while having dinner. Both seam a bit weak for the fact that you can also enjoy the sunsets outside the dinner and that it just makes your jetlag worse which might make your experience in jawakara less relaxing than in other resorts. The next minor thing is the bathroom in the beach villas which is basically outside of your room, because there is a gap between the ceiling and the outer walls. There is no protection against insects in between. Even though they spray some peoduct against mosquitos every day around the island, you still have them in your bathroom all the time and also in your bedroom if you don't keep the bathroom door closed at all times. Also you might find ants on your toilet seat in the middle of the night. This inconvenience should be avoided in my opinion. The last thing to mention is the fact that at the end of your stay the welcoming atmosphere changes and it feels more like jawakara wants to get rid of you as fast as possible. They refused us a late checkout with the reason the seaplane company had shifted their latest flight of the day to 1pm. Our international flight from male was around midnight. That's why we would really have appreciated a later checkout. And yes the weather during our stay was quite unpredictable. But we talked to the seaplane captain afterwards and he assured us his flight at 1pm was definately not the last one from jawakara during that day. On top of that in Male we where greeted by some jawakara stuff that tried to sell us a tour around Male to spend our time in an enjoyable way. This tour should consist only of a walk through male for 70 dollars whiche we refused since it was raining.
