This farm house was an exceptional discovery. Put aside your notions of a modest, busy headquarters for a working farm. Instead, you will find a bright, open and airy home that is surrounded by fully mature trees and a quietude that begs you to sit on the veranda and listen to the nature around you. Inside, we found windowed bedrooms for six adults and four kids; three bathrooms, a vast living room and open dining and kitchen area. The appliances are brand new with fully finger touch controls. Outside there is a roofed deck with giant stone fireplace and seating for ten comfortably. What a place to sit and talk, sing or munch on S'mores while the stars come creeping late into the night. Our kids chased around the yard for hours, hide and seek. Down the lane is a short walk to a sand beach that stretches for nearly a kilometer in both directions before it turns around a point to the next beach. Have a dog? They'll love the romp in the water. Speaking of water, you are only 4 km away from lock 8 of the Welland Canal, which has a continual stream of gigantic lake freighters making their way between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. The string of restaurants and shops that border the west side of the canal provide ample opportunity to enjoy the sights while you eat and shop. The most remarkable element of this vacation home was its neatness and thoughtful arrangements. The owners love the property and are proud to share it. We felt that we were being hosted like VIPs.

We had a wonderful vacation at the Countryside Farm house. Sigrid lives nearby and was very helpful with any question or concern that we had. She gave us a guided walk to the beach (very close) to assist. The private beach was fantastic, as we were able to hang together as a family in near privacy while the kids played in the water. The house met all of our needs, and everyone had a wonderful time. We spent every evening on the back porch by the fireplace, talking and enjoying each other's company. During our week we went to the beach, Port Colborne, Niagara Falls, the Shaw Festival, saw vessels pass through the locks, and generally had a wonderful time.

Stayed the night before my wedding. Clean, spacious, beautifully decorated. Would return for a holiday any time!

Sigrid and Leon are wonderful and attentive host. The home was spacious, nicely furnished and very clean. The photos don’t do it justice. The outdoor living room with fireplace was spectacular. We creat many great memories playing games by the fire. Port Colborne is a quaint little town with a charming center. A great quiet family alternative to the crowds of Niagara Falls. We are so happy we found this home and would highly recommend it to all.

What a Gem! Beautiful house overlooking manicured farmland and across the way from gorgeous Lake Erie. My friends and I stayed at Sigrid’s place and were impressed with the majesty of the location. The house is comfortable and inviting. The superb outdoor terrace and stone fireplace was so nice that 3am rolled by and we found ourselves relaxing in the chairs, reminiscing and forgetting about life for a while. Thank you to our gracious hosts. We’ll be back next year !

We had a lovely time at this very spacious cottage. We were a group of Four couples including my husband and I . We as a group , gathered and enjoyed the outdoor fireplace room ! The home was well stocked with everything we needed and Sigrid was great to communicate with us promptly! It was a few minute walk to a beautiful beach !
