The Stone Sky Hotel

Loved the history of the hotel - location was superb. Great breakfast and lovely food for dinner in the hotel. Great home made red wine. All very reasonably priced. Would wholly recommend.

We loved the beautifully restored, traditional style building and the luxe comforts in our room - the only place with a bath in two weeks in Albania! Breakfasts were fantastic, and staff were friendly and accommodating - e.g., laundry services, assisting when we were ill etc.

This hotel is absolutely stunning! The views, the service, the food were all exceptional! It was beyond clean! I am very picky about this and I felt like I was in a space that I had cleaned myself! When you drive up to hotel on the small cobblestone road and see a sign that tells you not to go any further look directly to your right and you’ll see the beautiful doorway/entrance that will take you to up to hotel. Just leave your car there and staff will come down and park your car for you and bring up your bags. There are stairs. My hubby and I are in our early 60’s and while we were a little intimidated we managed just fine. Gjirokaster requires a lot of walking up hill everywhere. Again, we did fine. Just took it slow. You can have a few more pancakes than normal! Not a dislike necessarily but this entire town is uphill. Please don’t let this stop you from enjoying this beautiful city. You can drive to top of castle and old town.. we did not drive but took the short cut through the private little village. Such a great experience!

Amazing Hotel. The room was super clean, we also really loved the terrace withe the view of the mountains. 10min walk to old town. And the staff was incredible, really friendly and attentive.

The way directly to the hotel is really steep but that’s it.
