Hana Lodge

From the moment we arrived at Hana Lodge Rotorua, we were completely swept away. The property itself is stunning, peaceful, and beautifully designed, but what truly elevates Hana Lodge into a league of its own is the incredible, world-class staff. Every single team member went above and beyond to make our stay perfection. Their warmth, attention to detail, and genuine care made us feel pampered from start to finish. Whether it was anticipating our needs before we even asked, offering thoughtful local recommendations, or delivering service with authentic hospitality, the staff made us feel like royalty. If you are looking for luxury, tranquil beauty, and service that makes your heart smile, look no further. Hana Lodge is an absolute jewel in Rotorua. We cannot wait to return!

It was comfortable with a large, well equipped room. Lots of things like soft drinks and snacks were complimentary. The staff were really friendly and service oriented. There was a nice outdoor sauna, two hot tubs and a pool. The food for both breakfast and dinner was very nice - we opted to eat in a second time after having enjoyed the first. The style of the hotel and its grounds were quirky and fun.

The “gym” was quite basic (just static cycle, rowing machine and some dumbbells) and included a billiard table. But that said it was about 1.5km from a nice lakeshore walking path so we ran there for exercise.

The welcome was outstanding and the staff provided snacks (on both arrival and departure) and an orientation tour. Beautiful property and breakfast was great.

The outside grounds are wonderful with fun sculptures and the building itself is very impressive. The pool area is good, with a sauna and hot tubs. Our room was large, with a newly renovated bathroom. The bed was very comfortable.

The service offering lets this place down. It's just not at the level the price would suggest. In particular, the dinner was very average (ie local pub food), and yet very expensive.
