The location was great for our purposes. The rooms are spacious, with high ceilings. The apartment was warm once we got the heating going. The bedroom was quite quiet even on the Saturday night. It was great to have an off-street parking spot in the front yard.

The initial impression of the place was pretty shabby, unfortunately, starting with the smashed-up car in the front yard (though I realize that may have belonged to whoever was in the other flat). The front door sticks very badly and is hard to open and shut. It looks like some renovations have been done, as cheaply as possible, and in some places incompletely (e.g., no door latch or handle on the front room door, paint splashes on wall light fittings). The flat was quite chilly when we arrived and there were no instructions for turning on the central heating. (Not being from the UK, we weren't really familiar with the operation of a central heating boiler.) There isn't much natural light. The carpet felt like it needed to be cleaned generally, and in one place near a door from the bedroom to the outside (which we couldn't open) there was a dark area that could have been mould. Other things that could be fixed include: lack of microwave or dishwasher in the kitchen; no table or chairs in the kitchen; no facilities for drying clothes indoors (not even an airing rack); no mirror in the bedroom; no bin in the bathroom; bathroom mirrors were too high for a woman of average height; no bathroom exhaust fan.

Superb value for money, spacious apartment with everything you need. We will stay again.
