CHECKinn Osaka Shinimamiya

The staff is polite. It was a fairly big room. I thought that having 2 twin beds would be too small, since we're used to a King size bed at home and my husband is 6'1" tall, but they were great! It had a tiny closet just as you enter, but that's all that was needed. The bathroom was fine, it had a tub. Amenities were full-sized. Location was great, near a lot of attractions. We walked everywhere, sometimes an hour away, but it's very doable. We are in our 60s. The lobby has 3 bathrooms, a seating area with a hot and cold water station, cold tea, and a little, warm truffle-sized chocolate puff cake for all to enjoy.

The beds are very firm, but we were able to sleep fine. The bathroom is a step up/down, so you have to remember that if you wake up in the middle of the night to go. There was no room to open our suitcases. We had to open them one at a time on the floor, block the front door, then keep moving it out of the way to get out or use the bathroom.

The staff ( particularly the lady with the glasses at the front desk) were all extremely friendly and professional and gave great recommendations for food to eat. Location was great as well! Room was spacious and clean. Great shower and loved the little snacks.

Beds were too firm for our liking.

立地が良い。付近にコンビニ、飲食店、駐車場もたくさんあり一晩置いても1000円。なんばまで最寄りの今宮戎駅から一駅、賑やかな通りを歩いても25分で着く距離。

- The staff were genuinely kind and always willing to help. - The location was convenient enough for getting around.

- When booking, we chose the Superior Twin Room because the description included beautiful photos with city views of Osaka (unlike the Standard Twin Room, which didn’t). However, the room we were given had no view at all. It looked directly onto a wall or emergency staircase just a few centimeters from the window. There was no natural light, and certainly no view (see attached comparison photos). I hope this serves as a warning for anyone considering a “superior” room in hopes of getting a view, or at least daylight. If city views are not a guaranteed feature of the Superior Twin Room, then for the sake of honesty, those photos should be removed from the room’s description to avoid misleading future guests. - The room had several design and layout issues, as if it had been designed by someone who’s never stayed in a hotel room. For example, there was only one power outlet near the bed. If you need to charge multiple devices, you’ll end up hunting for outlets around the room, or unplugging the TV or fridge just to access one. There were no outlets in the bathroom or near a mirror, so if you want to use the hair dryer, you’ll have to do it blindly, without a mirror. - The mattresses were very hard, even compared to sleeping on a futon. - The general design and decor of the hotel give off an unfinished and outdated vibe. I assume the cork walls in the entrance are intentional, but they made it feel like the place was still under construction.
