Six Boutique Hotel

Die Unterkunft ist sehr süß, klein aber fein. Ein Boutique Hotel macht den Charme aus und das hatte es durchaus. Das Zimmer war sehr klein, das Bad allerdings passend von der Größe her. Check in und out war ganz entspannt. Die Lage ist echt perfekt. Die Fenster sind super isoliert und man hört vom nächtlichen Treiben nichts. Es war sehr sauber.

Das Zimmer war schon recht klein, der Geruch der angrenzenden Gastronomie zog ins Zimmer, sodass man ab dem Abend kein Fenster geöffnet lassen kann.

The location was fantastic, only a short walk from the station and right in the middle of bars and restaurants.

Very little not to like, we asked if we could store our bags a couple of hours before check in and they didn’t have provision for this, I think this could have been achievable

The location is incredible! The property is darling! Staff is extremely responsive.

It was very hot. Apparently things aren’t always checked on. Some lights didn’t work. A fan was broken.

It’s clear that the apartment was beautifully renovated some time ago, especially the bathroom with its bathtub and sauna — definitely a highlight. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the old town and just a few steps away from anything you might need. The owner’s contact person was always kind and helpful whenever we discussed the small issues that came up during our stay. The owner also offered a discount for the troubles we experienced, which is why my rating for the staff reflects this positively. The apartment is easy to reach on foot from the train station, and overall Haarlem is a wonderful place to spend time.

The location, as amazing as it is, unfortunately comes with some important downsides. The apartment has only a skylight — no actual windows. Normally that could still work, but in the evenings, opening it means getting a full “chef’s special” from the nearby restaurant’s kitchen vents. Every fried dish they make seems to take a quick tour through the apartment, so fresh air in the evening is basically impossible. The shower doesn’t have a proper ventilator, so mold is happily expanding on the ceiling. The toilet room also has no ventilation, which is… not ideal, especially when the skylight must stay closed. Some ceramic tiles on the floor are broken. And from 21:00 to 21:30, the very enthusiastic nearby church rings its bells continuously — apparently following a tradition from the 1600s to announce the city gates closing. Charming historically, less charming when you have a child trying to sleep. The coffee machine, as mentioned by another reviewer, was still not functioning. I returned it to the owner’s representative, but a working replacement never arrived during our stay. A few small cleaning spots were missed, but nothing dramatic.
