The Nolita Express Hostel

ok, listen. The location beats all other things. If you are on a budget but don't want to share a room with 36 more people, this is the place. The staff was nice, and they let me store my luggage to explore.

The ceiling is open due to security reasons, but you can literally hear eeeeverything, the do offer earplugs, but the first night it was too much.

The location is excellent, the staff is welcoming, and the property is spotless. It’s an excellent spot to stay in Manhattan when on a budget.

There is nothing I didn’t like…

Honestly this place deserves a way better rating. My medium pod was unreal! Definitely splurge for the medium I promise it’s worth it for the window, double bed and extra space. The girls floor is so quiet, everyone was respectful and abided by the silence at all times rule. The communal areas look pretty and are spacious. Honestly there isn’t much to dislike. It’s a hostel with walls between the beds and lamps. Yeah the open ceiling is a bit funky if this was a hotel but it’s NOT. The staff are nice and the guy at the desk helped me with my bags. Location is absolutely the best you could probably get and very safe! So well connected.

Honestly the bathrooms were the worst part and could do with a bit of love but I still didn’t mind them.

The rooms were nice and comfortable, even though they were small. The decoration is really beautiful.

Well, to find the hostel is already difficult, there's no big, visible signs. There's no elevator so you need the staff, or a good samarithan to help you with your luggage. However, the staff sometimes is not there and there's no one to cover lunch or dinner time so the reception is empty. The showers were extremely hot to the point of burning the skin and when I complained about it, received a instruction on how to turn it on; I'm trying to get a shower not to open a safe, if I need a specific way to get it going it's not a shower anymore; is it protected by a password? Also in the restrooms there are no paper towels to dry hands, so the choice was to dry my hands with toilet paper or to let them dry naturally. Also, the females bathroom usually had the floor flooded and stinking. The hostel has to improve first just to become bad.
