The house was amazing - spacious, lots of different areas for different purposes, full of natural light and lamps, and generally a wonderful and calm atmosphere. Only really reachable with a car, but plenty of parking! Worked perfectly for staying here the night before my wedding and for my bridesfolk the night after :)

The house was a great size and the parking space was fantastic, with ample space for 4 or more cars. From the outside the house appeared to have beautiful potential. The house was well equipped with ample cutlery, crockery and glasses. There were extra fridges too which were of benefit to the larger party size. The dining area was ideal for our party and is a great set up for hosting large dinners. The location was very nice, it was quiet but also within near distance of supermarkets to top up groceries. The host was also very welcoming, approachable and offered clear instructions on arrival/departure. Access to the property was very easy.

Overall the house felt very tired and somewhat neglected. The decor was significantly outdated/disjointed and would benefit massively from being freshened up. The flooring was worn/damaged throughout the house (particularly in the conservatory where the flooring tiles had completely separated and actually lifted but they'd been covered over by a rug...). All of the glassware had to be washed before we used them as they were not clean. Of most concern was the condition of the bedding. It would appear that the bedding hadn't been washed as there were actually blood stains on the duvet cover in one room (we were horrified to see this but couldn't find another set to change it over) and others appeared very worn in other rooms which left us feeling uncomfortable. All of the beds in the cottage were very uncomfortable, none of the guests reported having slept well. I know from the bed I slept in that the mattress actually felt structurally compromised with springs unevenly distributed throughout. The main fridge wasn't very cold and there wasn't an option to lower this setting. It meant that items kept in the fridge weren't very chilled which we were then worried about food becoming compromised. The bathrooms were outdated and not adequately cleaned with evidence of mildew and limescale build up within the shower/bath area. The outdoor area was not as expected, with significant signs of neglect. The seating area was far from comfortable and the outdoor seating space at the back of the garden was unusable. It was sad to see a space with such gorgeous potential be left to ruin. Overall disappointing.
