24 Rosemary Lane is that rare thing – a holiday cottage which feels like a real home. We would happily stay again, any time! Set in an attractive backstreet, with very little traffic, within a couple of minutes’ walk from the seafront and the centre of Beaumaris, it is nevertheless, peaceful and quiet. We visited in September with our Golden Retriever and it was a perfect base from which to investigate Anglesey. It also boasts that rarity in seaside cottages - an enclosed garden, where we were able to relax in the sunshine. (Note that this is now slightly different to how it is depicted in the publicity. The lower half of the garden of Number 24 is now split with the garden of the neighbouring cottage with a communal space at the top by the trees.) The dining kitchen is modern, well equipped and spacious. There’s a modern combi boiler which works well. The lounge is also well proportioned and pleasantly furnished There’s a large flat screen TV and the Wifi reception is excellent. With some previous reviews mentioning a doggy aroma we were expecting the worst, but everywhere smelt perfectly fresh. The carpet had a few small marks but was pretty much what we would expect from a regularly booked holiday cottage towards the end of a season. The bathroom was a bit tired around the edges – particularly the shower curtain, but it was fresh and clean where it mattered and many of the fitments looked new. The bedrooms were all bright and clean with immaculate towels and bedspreads.
We didn’t really dislike anything, but here are a few observations. There’s a washing machine but no tumble drier (- a minor thing which might be a problem in wet weather!) Beware the low, soft sofas, which feel as though they might swallow you alive! Just a small caution. The stairs in the cottage and the steps up into the garden are a little steep, but fine for anyone of average mobility. No dedicated parking included, but the secure council car park is only five minutes’ walk away. This of course involves a charge, but we researched the cost in advance, bought an all-week ticket and our car felt perfectly safe.

Where it was. We all loved Beaumaris. The kitchen equipment was brilliant. There was nothing we hadn't got. The bedrooms were clean. The main bedroom was a better size to move around the bed. The bathroom was clean. The shower was good too. Plenty space to relax downstairs. Comfortable sofas. Plenty of space at the table. The kitchen was spacious. The garden was an added bonus. We had picked apples from the trees 🌳 in the garden to make apple crumble.
On arrival the carpet was a heavy smell from pets. We vacuumed the carpet as my sister in law was suffering with allergies 🤧 from the pet hair. We also needed to empty the Henry hoover as it was absolutely clogged full. It was better afterwards, once hoovered a second time. The carpet would benefit a deep clean or better still, a hard flooring for cleaning and mopping. The stairs were difficult to climb due to the angle of them and the hand rail on the wall was high. My brother in law has dementia and his coordination/movement is poor. My sister in law suffers a back problem so this added to her pain. The toilet upstairs was a hindrance for them. Had the stairs not been so steep we would have managed better.

Loved this cottage! Excellent location, comfortable and had everything we need.
It’s a wonky old Victorian cottage which we love, but the stairs might be tricky for those with mobility issues.

We liked the location - the comfy sofas - lovely kitchen and all you would need and a fantastic garden
We had a few problems the taps in the bathroom never worked when you flushed the toilet - the hot tap didn’t work at all in the sink - the cold tap on the bath didn’t work but hot did - no lock on bathroom - outside chairs need changing - stairs at top are dangerous how they are shaped
