Very spacious, especially for Japan. Great views of Fuji from the common area. Nice staff who left me late-check-in instructions, and then also gave me great food and onsen recommendations. Everything clean and comfy. Good location, also a great cafe 1min walk away.

The host was wonderful and made sure we had everything. The room was spacious and clean. You could rent out bikes for free to easily move around Kawaguchiko. The host prepared an amazing onigiri breakfast for us (you have a wide variety of choices) with miso soup, egg roll and tea. The two shared shower areas have showers and space for at least 4 people, and we enjoyed it with my spouse a lot. The shared spaces downstairs were comfortable. The host speaks good English, is a very relaxed person and helpful. For example, he informed us of a matsuri (festival) happening downtown.

The washing machines worked slightly differently from the instructions and the drier time (20minutes for 100yen) was way too short for anything to actually dry even after 4 consecutive times. Then again, it was typhoon season and very humid.

This was my second stay at Hachi, and just like last year, it felt like coming home. From the moment I arrived, everyone at Hachi made me feel incredibly welcome. They don't just treat their guests like customers—they treat them like family, and that's something truly special. Just like last year, every facility was excellent. The shower rooms, powder room, laundry area, dormitory, and especially the lounge where guests can connect with one another were all spotless and thoughtfully maintained. But what makes Hachi unique is that it's much more than just clean. The handmade furniture, crafts, decorations, and overall design make the entire guesthouse feel like a work of art. Every corner reflects the owners' creativity, warmth, and attention to detail. I am so grateful that I discovered Hachi last year. It's no longer just a guesthouse to me—it has become my second home. I already can't wait to come back again. Thank you to everyone at Hachi for another unforgettable stay!
