Personnel très accueillant et lieu atypique

Old a French house of great character and history. The hosts were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed the pool too. Lovely rooms and excellent breakfast.

Benjamin has a real gift for hospitality, and clearly loves sharing with guests this fascinating historical property which he and his partner have recently had renovated. Our room (the one beautifully decorated in dark blue/green) was at the back, so although the property is fantastically situated on the road that runs along edge of the Loire itself, we had a completely quiet night’s sleep with no traffic noise at all. Good parking at the back - even for our camping-car, which we abandoned for a night for the luxury of a normal bed and a beautifully renovated bathroom. We had booked breakfast in advance – €15 for an excellent selection of foods, including homemade jam. Didn’t realise until we got there that we could also have ordered freshly prepared meals in microwavable containers for heating up in a small kitchen area available to guests staying in the four rooms. Ideal for cyclists or those on the move - just order a day in advance so they can be prepared. (A fridge is also available for guests to store their own food.) Enjoyed reading in the morning sun in the relaxing garden before we left for lunch at the guinguette Barbe à Maman, just down the road, recommended by Benjamin. Definitely hope to return…

En bord de route très passante; gîte très vieillot, pas très propres (moustiquaire pleines d’insectes depuis longtemps, toiles d’araignées), draps sont en supplément (20€ par drap) et serviettes aussi (7€ je crois par serviette!) or ce n’est pas clair sur le site qu’on n’est pas au même niveau que les chambre d’hôte du château
