Celes Samui

Rooms were amazing with huge comfortable beds, plenty of storage space, indoor and outdoor showers. Among the nicest rooms I have stayed in. Infinity pool right on top of a small beach overlooking Koh Phangan was lovely.

We stayed in three places in Thailand this trip and the breakfasts were much better in the other two. A hotel this lovely should have had people making sure things were at least warm. Head chef was standing watching people waiting in the queue for warm eggs, so I took the opportunity to ask him why items which should have been warm were consistently cold. There were piles of cold fried eggs, omelettes, pancakes, french toast, bacon, etc, under what were supposed to be heat lamps or on hot plates, which nobody was making sure were working. The breakfast choices were generally ok, but a hotel this good should do better. As an aside, the hotel can’t dictate where its guests come from, but there were a number of very noisy / poorly-behaved guests who pushed in at breakfast to get the table they wanted, shouted around the pool, generally made staff visibly uncomfortable with their rudeness and flew drones around the pool. We chose to move to an older pool away from the beach crowd as a result. I know some countries like shooting with drones, but this and the way they spoke to staff was often inappropriate. I would have liked staff to encourage guests to behave better.

Vom Ein- bis zum Aus-Checken hat einfach alles gepasst. Wir haben uns sofort willkommen gefühlt. Das Frühstück war ein Traum. Es hat an nichts gefehlt. Rund um den großzügigen und selbstverständlich sauberen Pool gab es genug bequeme Liegen und Sonnenschirme. Wenn es unsere Planungen zulassen, kommen wir gerne wieder.
