Einfach und funktional

It has tram and metro stations very close to the property. The price is also very cheap and there was airconditioning which was nice to have during a heatwave. It was quiet, possibly because there were not a lot of people staying at the hostel during the time we were there.

The rooms smelled stuffy and even though we ventilated the smell stayed. There were hairs in the cabinets that weren’t ours and there were still things from a previous guest underneath the bed. There was one time where we tried the access code a few times and it didn’t work and then another guest had to help us out.

Location is great. Metro station a few steps away, and a short (about 1 km) walk to the museum quarter

calling the walls "paper thin" doesn't do it justice. we were kept awake all night by our neighbors talking, and they actually weren't even loud. we asked for slightly late check-out as a result and it was like pulling teeth. when check-out is at 10 and you request an extra 2 hours, it should not be that difficult even if they are fully booked - given check-in is only after 3. but the woman on the phone was so put out about it. finally... it is a lie to say you have a kitchen when it is nothing but a kettle and a microwave. that does NOT count. having a kitchen means you can cook, which I had fully intended to do.
