Best Western Gold Country Inn

I recently stayed here for several nights and overall had a positive experience. Things didn't start out that way, as the first room I was assigned was really grim. There was an awful smell coming from the carpet (similar to wet dog) and permeated the entire space and bathroom. In addition, the toilet was running and didn't have a functioning flush. I was really hesitant to approach the front desk and complain, as am usually not a picky or confrontational person. However, I had nothing to lose because I knew I could not tolerate this for an extended stay. The gentleman at the front desk was so nice and understanding, and rather than make me defend my position just immediately set out to find me a replacement room. The replacement was much, much better and no further problem arose at all. All of the staff I encountered were extremely kind and cordial, and the breakfasts were really great. The room was quiet and the air conditioning worked perfectly during a very hot stretch. In hindsight, I know that pets are welcomed in guest rooms here and believe dogs had recently stayed in that first room, causing the strong odor.

Basically it was fine. Nothing special.

We loved the pool . Too many

Very satisfied with this hotel
