Room was clean & I was allowed to check in an hour early. Ample parking, very close to shops & restaurants. Bad: showerhead was very low. (Height, the water pressure was fine.)

Renovation was on progress during our visit and were assigned on the next building across the street. We booked a standard room without A/C not recommended during summer, winter would be suffice. But the location of this establishment, you don’t need to drive around to visit shop while you can just walk down the street and your there. Veterans park across the street and you can rent kayak/paddle boards and other water activities. As NorCal resident and 45 mins away from Lake Tahoe, we find Big Bear a wonderful peaceful place to visit. Without Jackie and Shadow, we wouldn’t know about Big Bear Lake. There 2 ways to get Big Bear but in prefer the Barstow way east Big Bear and less switchbacks/zigzag the other way is the LA side. For NorCal travelers I would suggest Barstow way to Big Bear.

We really enjoyed our stay there. It was old but had character. Very convenient location. We could walk everywhere. Will definitely go again.
