We had booked a room suitable for five people for just the two of us so had plenty of space. The onsen was welcome and the meals very good

Location is amazing, very isolated (we were happy to get the pick up and drop off, as we don't travel by car). İt snowed over night and we had a nice walk to the lake and lakeside onsen - magical. The breakfast was wonderful, lots of different Japanese breakfast items with view to the snowy forest.
However, we couldn't help feeling that our stay was a bit of an inconvenience to the host family, which was not really about language problem. This was the first time we have experienced that in Japan...
