Gästehaus Leipzig

I stayed with a friend for two nights in May (watching the Eurooa Conference League Final). The property is in an excellent location, close (10 minute walk) to the city centre and only 30 minutes walk from the main station and also the RB Arena. The property is a gracious old building which I beleve once housed a consulate, and the rooms are spacious and spotledly clean, if a little basic in terms of furnishing. We did not eat there but the breakfast room looked good as we walked past, and the one member of staff we met was extremely helpful. I would certainly recommend this guesthouse for a short visit to the lovely city of Leipzig !

A unique property with its own fascinating, and sometimes dark, history. The design of the building is strikingly elegant. For the first time, I enjoyed a hotel room with a ten-foot ceiling, casement windows and four-ply toilet paper (good for wiping or a rough draft of your memoirs. The staff was friendly and attentive. I was made to feel at home. P.S. Do not scrimp on the breakfast buffet.

Beautiful villa (former Polish consulate), in green and posh area. It felt as if we were part of postwar movie. Somebody in the house was regularly playing the piano, fantastic and moving music, around 8 pm. Huge room, with a seating area and big bathroom. We had work at the Hochschule für Buchkunst, which we could see from our window, just 50 mt away. Only 3 tram stops from station. Around the corner, deeper into the Musikviertel, there are many restaurants. And Backstein, a wonderful bakery with outdoor seating around the corner. Plus the Gallery for Contemporary Art around the same corner. And I had a run early morning in the Clara Zetkin park. All very pleasant and we felt very much at home.

Lovely building in a quiet area among embassy’s and other landmark buildings, almost seems like a small embassy itself. Staff were very unobtrusive after providing my key and showing me my room. Calm, quiet but very well located.
