Staff tried to be helpful but were not used to servicing foreigners with limited knowledge on traveling through China. No restaurant or ATM on premises from which to get currency for eating out, as local restaurants do not accept foreign cards.
Also worth noting that hotel stays booked through third-party channels (such as online travel agencies) are not eligible for earning award points.
