This was one of the most incredible experiences we had in Japan. The staff and service level are extraordinary. The 8 or 10 course meals at dinner and breakfast were an unbelievable experience. We traveled with young kids with varying degrees of adventurous eating and the staff was able to prepare dishes that were more western (mini sausages, fries, sunny side eggs). We took a large family suite with a private outdoor hot springs bath and it was gorgeous. The shuttle to the train station is very convenient

Our stay at Matsusaki Ryokan was absolutely unforgettable. The pickup from Komatsu Station was incredibly smooth and stress-free, which set the tone for the entire experience. From the moment we arrived, everything was handled with such care and attention to detail. The property itself is stunning—the pond and garden are beautifully maintained, creating a peaceful and serene atmosphere that’s perfect for unwinding. Every corner of the ryokan was spotless, and you could really feel the pride they take in keeping the facilities so clean and comfortable. What truly made our stay exceptional, though, was the hospitality. Natalie went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, relaxed, and well taken care of. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and thoughtful throughout our stay. The meals were fantastic, and she did an amazing job making sure we were always well-fed and happy. If you’re looking for a place that combines traditional charm with genuine warmth and top-notch service, Matsusaki Ryokan is an absolute gem. We left feeling refreshed, cared for, and already wanting to come back.

This was one of the best hotels I stayed in in Japan! The service was outstanding, the room was beautiful and very clean. We had our own private mineral tub and even a massage chair. The Kaiseki dinner was outstanding. I had left behind an important piece of equipment, and the staff found it and emailed me within an hour of leaving the hotel. They mailed it to my next destination for me, I was so relieved! I can’t say enough about how amazing the service is at this hotel. The beds were super soft and comfy with fluffy pillows and even an adjustable bed. We got the best night of sleep we had in Japan!
