Dormy Inn Matsumoto Natural Hot Spring

Great spot, highly recommend!!

The Dormy Inn is a convenient and clean hotel. Check-in and checkout were quick and easy. They offered a welcome drink of Nagano Apple Juice and they provide a complementary ramen for those working late. The top floor baths were well maintained and clean. The bath provided many amenities including razors and a yogurt drink. The rooms are on the small size and I came with a family so I booked 2 rooms. It was nice that the staff placed the rooms next door to each other. The breakfast was comprehensive and there was plenty of room for us. The only issue I had, and it bothered everyone in my party, were the pillows. The pillows are so hard that my wife got a headache and I’m still feeling a pain in my neck 3 days later.

I stayed here for one night after completing my hike up Mt Shirouma, and it was the perfect place to unwind. The onsen was incredible and really helped my muscles recover. The entire facility is clean, well-maintained, and thankfully uncrowded. A great bonus is that they offer laundry facilities free of charge—though I didn’t end up using them, it’s a fantastic amenity for hikers. The room design is excellent. I loved the sliding door that separates the bed from the sink area. Unlike the cramped hotels you often find in Tokyo, the space here is incredibly generous, with more than enough room to fully open and lay out your luggage. Highly recommended for anyone heading into or coming down from the mountains!

Room is small but clean with great shower. The onsen was beautiful! Good location, close to train station, temple and restaurants
