Crown Hotel

Great little hotel embedded 15-20 min walk from downtown Oxford, with buses close by. A short walk from lots of restaurants and bars, with one only across the street. I would have thought that the noise from the bar would be bothersome but it really wasn't as it got quiet just after 10pm. Good was clean and modern. Bed felt like it was on the smaller size for a double, but it was probably standard size.

Close to the O2 Academy and to High Street, friendly

No elevator past the first floor

Good location for what I needed

A little dirty under the bed

Clean bathroom, decent location, excellent aircon.

This felt like a budget hotel charging standard prices. Double room had the bed against the wall, so not easy for one person to get out without disturbing the other and obviously no bedside table on that side. Previous occupants must have had pastries in the room as there were crumbs/flakes on the floor around the table, plus food leftovers in the fridge. Sheets were marked - but seemed clean so hopefully washed and just stained. Blind was broken so had to prop it open to let light in. For £145 per night I expected better.
