Old Town Hotel

The Old Town Hotel is more like a four-room guesthouse. To reach it, you have to walk through the garden of the Hotel Gjirokastra. The property enjoys an ideal location in the heart of the Old Town; all tourist attractions are within walking distance. My room was very spacious and equipped with a small fridge. A delicious breakfast is served on the terrace. I had some laundry done, and the next day, I found my clothes ironed in my room. I highly recommend the Old Town Hotel.

The location is great, very close to the Gjirokaster Bazaar area, but at the same time it was far enough to be peaceful and away from the crowds and noise. The lady running the show was very welcoming and friendly.

While she was friendly, she couldn't speak much English, so communication was a problem. The facilities in the room were very basic. My bathroom was such that when I had a shower the whole bathroom got wet and the water temperature ran from hot to cold back to hot. And the house was so, so cold!! Despite the claim, there are no 24x7 facilities - there is no extra water, tea/coffee, anything left for guests to access and not a soul around to ask. I most certainly would not call this a hotel.
