The building needs some upgrade. The location is too busy for our preference.

The location was very central to everything we wanted to do, staff were all friendly and helpful

The pool was not yet operational when we were there and some rooms need an upgrade. We had to ask for a new room because our ac was making a rattling sound. The request was immediately accommodated

It was near the event I was attending. The room I got was a good size, renovated, good layout and equipped with a mini fridge and safety deposit box. Most of the staff were very good - the doormen were helpful with calling for taxis, the waiters were attentive and Housekeeping was very efficient.

It is a very old hotel and it has not been maintained very well. There was a very pronounced unpleasant smell in the hallways. There was mold on the wall in my room. Not the fault of housekeeping - this kind of issue needs more than just cleaning. The tiny elevator was vintage, and very slow. The window type aircon had a broken dial for thermostat control, so I could not adjust the fan speed, which was stuck on high. I had requested for late check-out to 1:00PM on two occassions but the front desk personnel were slow to confirm. In the end, I decided to catch an earlier ferry, so the late check-out was not needed at all. But having to wait at reception for an answer to a simple request was annoying.
