Very well situated, near centre of town, but very quiet. 5 mins walk to canal path. Near shops and restaurants., etc. Well equipped kitchen. Incredibly comfortable sofa. Masses of hot water. Good washing machine and dishwasher. So many cupboards we had trouble remembering where we'd stored things. Bottle of sparkling wine left in the fridge.

Metal spiral staircase to bedrooms - maybe more common in France, but definitely not good for anyone elderly or with young children. It reverberated noisily when used - not good if people get up to use the bathroom, which is downstairs, in the middle of the night. We left a light on all night so we wouldn't fall down it, making sleep in one of the bedrooms difficult. We couldn't find towels and contacted the owner. It turned out they were locked in a grey bag with a code needed for its padlock. Why??? Only one loo-roll, one washing detergent and one bin-bag for 11 nights - was a bit smelly by the end. One bedroom can be exited only through another. Only two of us, but could be a problem for a larger group.
