We instantly fell in love with this property, both because of the quiet location and spectacular views, but also the history of the place. It was like walking into a living museum, complete with old family photos on the wall. A characterful old staircase, creaking wooden floors, beautiful casement windows. Yet despite this old world charm, key areas such as the kitchen and bathroom were extremely high quality—modern, but without detracting from the overall character of the property. The shower was superb, and the space all efficiently used. The lighting in these spaces was excellent. The beds were extremely comfortable and the built-in headboard lighting was tasteful and created a nice ambience. We also loved the homemade knitted slippers, which were very warm and comfortable.

There could perhaps be a little more lighting in the sitting room, perhaps an additional standard lamp in another corner, or a desk lamp. Not a dislike, but more of a comment: that the third bedroom with the bed ending in a window/view is entered via the master bedroom (the room with the four poster bed).

Prachtig uitzicht en het huisje is enorm karakteristiek. Heerlijk rustig gelegen.

It was an amazing stay! Truly felt immersed in the history of the home and the views were stunning. Would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a historic home and want a quiet place. Modern kitchen & bathroom. A massive benefit was there was a charging station on the property and we were able to have a flexible check-in/check-out.
