The King's Head, Usk is a great place to choose for a night or a longer stay in the area. I was very happy with it: the staff are unfailingly friendly, polite and helpful, the meals are excellent and of generous proportions and the rooms are very pleasant - very clean, comfortable bed and nice touches like a coffee machine which actually works well!
One gripe: the beautiful en-suite bathroom had a shower screen which was not big enough to stop the floor from flooding. The bathroom became very wet and damp and no matter how careful I was I ended up soaking the place - loads of damp towels and bath mats everywhere.
