The breakfast was excellent and the staff member on duty when we arrived was extremely helpful. The room was very comfortable.
One minor detail: other than the back of the door, there was nowhere in the bathroom to hang towels. I found the arrangements around check-in annoying. I wrote toa sk if we could check-in two hours before the official time and was told that this would cost an additional $30, but that "complimentary" check-in an hour early was available. I felt this was inappropriate in a small hotel where our room cost almost $400. In the end, we were allowedinto our room at the time we requested, but the experirnce left something of a bad taste.

The estate is beautiful, you have everything you need for comfort.
Soak bathtub, comfortable bed, delicious breakfast, beautiful decor, large garden all around with big trees, swimming salt water pool And the staff made me feel at home.

Comfortable bed; older historical house.
Complicated and bureaucratic pre check in process; confusing information; only one chair in the room, no electrical outlets on one side of the bed; inability to control the temperature in the room and, while a bar is promised, it turns out to only be open 4:30 to 6:30 and not available for an after dinner, evening drinks. Not really a hotel.
