Host was amazing, property was fantastic, location was better. Checkin process was a disaster. No support from VRBO. We got lucky that a nearby business owner got us into the property as we were stranded with multiple bags after multiple hours of traveling from the USA. Very disappointed in VRBO throughout this entire 2 week trip. Back to the property. The owner eventually met us at the apartment, gave us instructions and many things to try and do in the area. Location is right on the beach with access to all kinds of excursions, rentals cars, and restaurants. Glad we came in May because parking is a nightmare. I wouldn't stay here during peak months but that's just me. Rethymno is a very busy town so you just have to be willing to accept that as part of the deal. I would recommend someone in between Chania and Rethymno, or Bali, or somewhere outside of all the action but it just depends what you are looking for. If it is beach access only, this it your spot.
