Soul Temple Ahangama is one of those rare places where every detail feels considered. From the moment you walk through the beautiful entrance, with its sculptural staircase and soft natural light, you know you're somewhere special. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and incredibly cosy, with floor-to-ceiling windows and a beautifully peaceful ocean view. Everything is thought through, from the hangers to the scents in the room and bathroom: each bottle has its own fragrance, and together they blend into something new and special. Mornings were a highlight here — wonderful breakfasts and coffee to the sound of the waves rolling in. The pool overlooking the ocean is perfect for slow afternoons, and you can book a yoga class, a massage, or simply enjoy everything that makes island life in the south so special. A huge thank you to Shenaia, Maneesha, Taz and Kyler for the wonderful company and genuinely outstanding hospitality. You made this place feel like home. I'll be back. <3

The staff at Soul Temple went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. All the rooms face the ocean away from the road making it a much quieter stay. There are also sliding glass doors which is perfect if you want to leave them open and listen to the sound of the waves. They serve a delicious breakfast which you can also take outside to enjoy the beautiful location of this hotel. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to any solo traveler or couple. Thanks again to Maneesha and Shen and the rest of the amazing staff!

I liked everything about this property, starting off with the view from my room, which stole the show, stunning view, the hotel is just on the beach. spacious, clean and nice rooms. The breakfast was really good. limited options, but whatever I ate during my 4 days of stay was the best breakfast I had. The ladies at the reception Maneesha and Karina, they were both such sweet, kind and helpful girls, gave us all the recommendations and were always available to help when needed. I will surely stay at the same property when I return to Ahangama.

The aesthetic and vibe of the property are unparalleled in this part of the world. Beautifully put together and an amazing base to retreat to on the south coast. The service, coffee and food are impeccable and cannot be faulted. Equivalent to 5* hotel service without a doubt! The staff are really friendly and make a real effort to get to know your preferences. Filtered water freely available. Great location for wandering to Ahangama’s coffee shops and restaurants. Sellam Gym is just over the train tracks and the station itself is beautiful. Excellent surf school affiliated with the hotel. Didn’t get out much due to busyness but instructors were excellent (we were one beginner, one novice). Skate ramp has seen better days. Ahangama itself is super busy and in various stages of development. Nothing to do with this amazing hotel but worth noting.

Cistern didn’t always refill in the toilet in the room. Window in bathroom had no latch to close shut at night (the hotel is in a noisy part of town immediately next to Uncles that has a couple of Karaoke nights - which they do warn you about repeatedly). Only two sun loungers - so could get tricky if the hotel were busier. Lots of haranguing from TukTuk drivers based straight across the road and every journey turns into a hard sell on where else they can take you other than your destination. Annoying but par for the course in Sri Lanka (and not really anything to do with the hotel).
