Hôtel de Ville

Det var en fantastisk morgenmad med helt frisk stempel kaffe og direkte servering af spejlæg og æg, pølse og bacon. Det var så lækkert. Serveringspersonalet var meget imødekommende og smilende og god til small talk. Ved ankomst fik vi at vide, at værelset var opgraderet, så værelse med udsigt over vand.

Det var ikke noget.

Très beau séjour à Gilleleje. La chambre côté mer est bien agencée et offre une vue magnifique. Le petit déjeuner est délicieux et nous avons apprécié le restaurant pour le diner avec un service attentif. Un grand merci à Clara qui a fait tout son possible pour nous venir en aide suite à un problème en vélo. Nous reviendrons.

The hotel is in a fantastic position - great for walking and exploring Gilleleje and surrounding coast. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was really good. The food was very good. We had a delicious evening meal and the freshly cooked scrambled egg at breakfast was very good.

I was disappointed in our room. I had booked a large sea view room but was told our room had been changed as we were travelling with a dog. It felt a claustrophobic. Overall I was surprised the hotel had a 4 star rating. The reception was not staffed all the time - we arrived on a Sunday afternoon and were greeted by staff from the restaurant who didn't know where our room was. There is a beautiful bar on the first floor with a fantastic view but this was not staffed either so we had a drink in a tiny dark bar infront of the restaurant service hatch. There was no kettle or coffee making facilities in the room and no offer of room service. Service in the restaurant was friendly and good for dinner and first breakfast but on the 2nd day service was poor. We had to search out staff for coffee and were not offered hot food until we were ready to leave. I was really looking forward to our stay at Hotel de Ville but won't be returning
