Great location: easy walk from Edgbaston cricket ground in the evening and then walk up to New Street station the next morning. The room was as advertised: sofa bed and main bed both comfortable. There were excellent kitchen facilities available had we wanted them. Great communications, including taking a phone call query at 10:30 on a Saturday evening!

Some might not like the shared bathroom but we didn't find it a problem. Other guest was great while we were there but it might work well to book both rooms so you are sharing with people you know

It is a shared bathroom so a certain level of hygiene is impacted by other guests. standard city noise pollution but considerably quieter on a night. mattress could use a topper for comfort

Not a very safe area - to the point where the host had to message me as there was teens present in the area causing trouble & to not open the door. Unfortunately, we were there on one of the few days of the year when it was super hot. The room was uncomfortably hot - no fan or aircon and we were sweating, lying completely still on the bed. The only way to get fresh air was via a window with the curtain open, but the window looked directly out to the street. The towels didn't smell clean and left an odour on my skin. The mattress was probably the worst I have ever slept on. Springs sticking into me - I slept with the doona folded in half on top of the mattress, and I could still feel it. Pillows were terrible also, woke up with a sore neck, and it was sore all day. Bathroom (especially the shower / bath) didn't seem like it had ever been cleaned. Had no idea where the kitchen was as all doors were shut. Fantastic the house has such good security, but the door was very hard to figure out & you needed 2 hands and a fair amount of strength to open / close it. Bathroom door was also hard to open / close.
