We visited family in Merthyr - the town center location suited us perfectly

The accommodation was perfect and met all of the needs for our stay. Very comfortable sofa and bed, bathroom facilities very clean with a decent shower. The WiFi was also a bonus. Location wise it was ideal as a short drive away to the Four Waterfalls Walk (the main purpose of our stay) and literally a stroll down the road in to town. Very much liked The Iron Dragon pub - friendly staff & locals, cheap prices and live bands. We ate two days on the trot at the Haystack Cafe - delicious food. Some lovely old buildings throughout the town (sadly some in a state of disrepair but this is the most for most town centres these days) and a fascinating gothic building a stones throw away from the accommodation. Formerly a synagogue, it looks like something out of a Tim Burton movie.

Both nights we were disturbed by a couple arguing in the street. Sounded like the same couple so likely to be nearby residents as opposed to drunks walking home. I doubt this occurs nightly and was probably just unfortunate timing for us.

El apartamento está totalmente reformado y perfectamente equipado para pasar unos días en la zona. El baño es muy cómodo y con una ducha con mampara grande. La cocina tiene todo lo necesario incluyendo nevera y microondas. Se puede aparcar en la zona, en la misma calle hay algunos sitios si llegas con tiempo pero si no, cerca hay sitio gratis para aparcar por la noche.

Lo peor son las escaleras de entrada al apartamento, que son estrechas pero sólo se usan al entrar y salir del apartamento

The location was fine for us. It was also quite near sight seeing areas. The bed was very comfortable and the flat had lovely modern ammenities. The bathroom was a delight, also very modern and clean. Lovely roomy shower with a choice of shower head.

The stairs were a bit hard to get our suitcases up but then again we are nearly 80yrs old 😁. Sure younger people manage very well. The only thing was there wasn’t any information on what to do with rubbish disposal. We took our recycling to our daughters and bought the other rubbish home. No access to outside bins. A minor thing but thought we should mention it.
