We originally did not plan to visit the Caribbean side of Costa Rica at all. But after having a terrible experience with our accommodation in Manuel Antonio, I felt that I desperately needed to find the Pura Vida I had been looking for. That is how we ended up at Evia Resort — and honestly, it was one of the best decisions we made during our trip. From the very beginning, we were treated like family. The owners and staff were incredibly warm, welcoming and genuinely caring. After a long journey to the Caribbean coast, being welcomed with a warm hug and a fresh coconut drink was exactly the kind of Pura Vida moment I had been hoping for. ❤️ Everything at the resort is beautifully clean, fresh and wonderfully scented. You can feel how much love and care goes into every little detail. I especially loved the breakfasts prepared by Frank. He was always interested in our dietary needs and allergies, and every morning breakfast felt like a little culinary surprise. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Breakfast became one of the things I looked forward to most each day. And then there was Ron at reception. Every evening, I would stop by to talk with him, and I genuinely looked forward to hearing his stories. These small personal moments made our stay feel so much more special. Evia is not just a beautiful place to stay. It is a place where you feel welcomed, cared for and truly at home. After a difficult start to our Costa Rica trip, Evia Resort gave me the Pura Vida I had been searching for. 🌴🥥❤️ We came looking for Pura Vida — and we finally found it here. The only negative thing was that we had to leave. We honestly wished we could have stayed much longer. ❤️

Beautiful location. Immaculate rooms with porch/kitchen and pool area. Bed super comfortable. The team were amazing. Breakfast was delicious each morning. Loved every second of our stay!

It's a little far away from the beach/main area of town along a very bumpy road. Wasn't an issue for us as we had a 4x4, but the drive to and from town can start to become a bit dull. But it's worth it to stay in such a lovely remote place. Minor niggles - nowhere to hand up wet towels/clothes to dry and the lack of a full length mirror.

Wow! This place is a dream. Hector, Frank and the team treat you like royalty and friends. The villas are clean, spacious and extremely comfortable and nicely equipped. The breakfast served on your private terrace each morning was such a luxury, and absolutely delicious. Each villa set of 4 shares a pool and there’s a lovely yoga platform which I enjoyed using. There are birds and butterflies galore in the gardens. We loved the area and despite being rained in a lot of the time, we loved our stay. Thank you guys! Pura Vida!

The only negative is the access road, which is awful! It’s absolutely riddled with potholes. This is not the fault of Evia of course, but something to be aware of, especially with a non 4X4 hire car.
