We will be back to enjoy Mesquita again and we’re very sad to go. Magical.
We loved everything about Mezquita and were very sad to leave. The location is idyllic and the terrace has fabulous views across the valley to the mountains. We ate outside, watched the sun set and then settled down for evenings by the cosy wood burner. Mezquita is the best equipped place we have stayed in on our travels- Danny and Marianne have thought of everything. The information pack was very complete with all you need to know about the area its history and all the great walks close by - the Medeival route literally passes the door! The local shop is well stocked and a supermarket is about ten minutes along the road in Pitres. We loved it there and will definitely be back.
Parking is not an issue but a degree of fitness is needed to access the property same as any Medeival village in the mountains. If we could score Mesquita more than 10/10 we would!
Nothing, Danny and Marianne are fabulous hosts and Mezquita is beautiful

Incredible property, peaceful stay, well equipped, nicely designed, with amazing views!
We stayed here for 4 wonderful nights in December. The accommodation and hosts exceeded our expectations! The apartment is quiet, nicely decorated, and the kitchen is fully equipped (we made all our meals here). We loved the xmas decorations! The main bedroom was very comfortable, the mattress is amazing, there is soft and plushy bedding, and if you leave the door open, it gets heated from the fireplace in the living room (saying that, I would bring a small heater if I were to bring any guests that were staying in the 2nd bedroom, because that area of the house felt a little chilly). There was always plenty of hot water to take a comfortable shower after a hike, the towels were fluffy, and overall the bathroom was lovely! Danny & Marianne were amazing. We arrived late and Danny stayed around to let us in, show us around and welcomed us with a warm fire - incredible! Both were always quick to reply to any queries, provided ample firewood, were lovely to chat with, and even took the time to send us my husband's shoes that we had forgotten in the wardrobe (a very big thanks!!). Their 4 legged friend, Mustafa, was a real gem, and even though our dog is selective when it comes to interacting with other male dogs, Mustafa was playful with him and nice to be around! The village is very charming (although like every other place I have stayed at in Spain, most pet owners do not clean up after their dogs so watch out where you step!), and the little store has all the basics, including some nice local cheeses and jams. The farmers we passed while out walking our dog were kind, and we were able to go on numerous hikes that were included in the guide that Marianne & Danny have made for their guests! This area of Spain is absolutely gorgeous, but it not very accessible if you have any mobility challenges, so of course you must be prepared for steep slopes and old, narrow streets where cars are forbidden.
We did not like having to leave this property! I would recommend arriving in the daylight, so that it is easier to navigate the narrow streets with your car and getting to the lower parking lot (but in any case, Danny was a great guide and even hopped in our car to guide my husband down the road!).

We visited in mid September thinking that we do a lot of walking but
The view from the sun terrace across the deep valley to the mountain beyond was enchanting and the sun's path from it's rising over the head of the valley and setting to the west is untrammelled! The silence is broken only by the gentle tinkling of a goat's bell and occasional voices passing in the alleyway below. Busqistar is charming, unspoilt and timeless. Donlt expect too many facilities there, but the neighbouring villages are not far away. The appartment is large, recently rennovated/converted from cowsheds to a very high standard. It's a special place!
Perhaps an awning in addition to the large sunshade would be a good addition.

A charming spot ruined by appalling access.
This accommodation is self-catering so breakfast did not apply. The apartment is fantastic, modern and clean, everything new, no expense has been spared and the hosts have thought of everything. The views from the terrace are interesting and quaint. We went in late summer but I would imagine the apartment is lovely and cosy in winter with a wood burner. There is no air-conditioning but effective ceiling fans in each room. Excellent fast Internet signal. The hosts always reply promptly to any message.
The few villagers we saw were all very friendly.
The trip was spoiled for us by the appalling access to the property. Extremely steep streets. Impossible for anyone with a mobility issue, wheelchairs or prams. In rain it must be very slippery. Sturdy shoes are required. One has to park at some distance and carrying luggage was an ordeal. This should have been made clear before the booking.
On another note, there were 2 goats kept in the adjoining ruined house, the smell and flies were very unpleasant (of course this is not the hosts' fault) but we had to keep the windows closed on that side of the apartment. Also much dog mess on the streets (again, not the hosts' fault).
Finally, the lovely terrace is not secure for small children or dogs. The railings are set far apart and can easily be crossed and there is a sheer drop to the street one storey down right in front of the apartment.
All in all, this property is suitable for able-bodied youngish visitors or hikers. Not elderly people, disabled or couples with small children.

Przemili gospodarze dbali, by niczego nie brakowało.
