It has recently been refurbished and is stylish and modern. The views are beautiful!

The atmosphere was calm and welcoming. The hotel itself is lovely and characterful. Grounds and views couldn’t be better. Every staff member was happy, helpful, and friendly. Food was gorgeous- both evening meals and breakfasts. It was lovely to be in a hotel with places to sit and relax. Room was very comfortable and the home made biscuits a nice touch (even left for us on a day when we didn’t require housekeeping!). Also for us with serious allergies it was lovely to find somewhere in such a special area with no animals allowed. A rare find!

Super comfy and relaxing, beautiful gardens to wander through, lovely staff and the food was great. Our room was spacious, clean and serviced daily and quiet. The views from the restaurant and bar are outstanding. Particularly liked the wee cookies delivered fresh every day for an afternoon tea treat. The chef & team put on a super menu - plenty choice, local food and so well cooked and presented. Would recommend anything on the menu for breakfast or dinner. Sunday roast was tremendous and thoroughly enjoyed. Bar staff are super too - could do with a real ale on the selection but we managed! Lots of quirky bits to enjoy here too - games, real records and billiards. Plenty parking which also makes life easier in the Lake District!

New refurbishment. Soul has been taken out of building. Food was not very good. Breakfast overcooked - couldn't cut bacon. Poached eggs too hard
