Garden House Hotel - Special Class

Wunderschöne ruhige Oase inmitten der pulsierenden Metropole. Sehr freundliches Personal. Zentrale Lage.

Location and friendly helpful staff. Tea and coffee facilities in room.

Breakfast was only adequate at best and not extensive as reviews indicated. Lack of privacy between bathroom and bedroom. No instructions how to use the Turkish bath!!

Gorgeous property and beautiful rooms. Staff were excellent and the breakfast was plenty. Location was great as it felt like a small pocket of calm in an otherwise very touristy area (Old City). Also my room had a Turkish spa styled bathroom which was heaven on earth!!!

The breakfast was wonderful :) the staff at breakfast and the bell boys were lovely.

Where do I start? All the managers and customer relation managers were absolutely grumpy, unapproachable and unhelpful. While the room seemed decorated well, it was on the 4th floor and no lift. Being our first experience in Istanbul, we were severely put off by the dismissive and callous nature of the managers. When asked for basic things like recommendations, water in the room etc, we were told to ask if needed and if it was over or to go on Google and check. For a place called Garden House- Special Class it clearly seemed that they were catering to a more white population and had a disdain for us, even though we paid in advance. We unfortunately had to book here a second time, given that one of the managers said he'd get back to us on keeping our luggage after staying for 3 nights and the next manager who took his place had no clue about the arrangements and asked us to rebook, thereby hassling us quite early in the morning, just before our flight due to the lack of internal communication. Additionally, it is located at the mid-base of the hill so every way of commuting, whether it's cabs or tours, no one wants to pick up from there. Needless to say, we trudged up and down hill multiple times (sometimes with luggage) just because of this inconvenience and all their fees were a good 50% more than the average rates.
