Beautiful room, lovely furnishings. Large well stocked bathroom. Got lovely cupcakes as we had just got married. Spa is lovely, beautiful views. Had dinner in main restaurant, food was very good, partner not overly thrilled by his steak.
Attractive bar with excellent drinks menu.

Had a lovely stay here celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary. The hotel had left a throughful card and cupcakes wishing us a happy anniversary - thoughtful detail that meant alot. The staff were all so helpful and friendly, lovely atmosphere from check in to check out. Our room was spacious, comfortable and had stunning views. We are early risers and breakfast is served from 6.30am, we loved the quality and variety of the breakfast. We took a walk up Slieve Donard and thoroughly appreciated the spa afterwards :) Location is amazing! Had a beautiful evening meal at percy french restaurant within the grounds of the hotel.
Nothing - we had an amazing stay.

Staff were very pleasant. Location as beautiful as ever. Very comfortable bed.
Breakfast tables too tightly packed. Some breakfast items were hard as they had been sitting too long. Not as clean as it could be. Floors grubby in places. Bathroom off foyer grubby and in need of repair. No face cloths in bathroom. Gone down since previous owners.

Stunning building, lovely furnishings
Parts of the bathroom weren’t cleaned well. Towel radiator had speckles from people brushing their teeth at the nearby sink. The circular mirror was very dusty- just a sign it hasn’t had a wipe in a while. Same above the rain shower head. But these are small things. We really loved the room and the beautiful building.

Very good selection for breakfast.
The fried soda bread and potato bread would improve with light, shallow frying. There was a good selection of cooked eggs ie soft and hard fried, poached.
Don't like dogs in dining room, guide dogs excepted.

Hotel was beautiful. Service was outstanding. Particularly the lady who checked us in. Not sure of her name ( long blonde hair) and our waiter Amy in the Percy French. We received a complimentary upgrade and cupcakes in the room as it was my mums 70th birthday. Fantastic touches that really made my mum's stay!. Decor is fabulous. The breakfast dining area was stunning. Beds extremely comfortable. The whole stay was wonderful. Beautiful hotel and excellent customer service!

The hotel is beautiful with exceptional staff and lovely facilities. The location is fantastic, with a lovely path along the coast right outside. The setting is beautiful with lots of places to sit and enjoy a drink or cup of coffee. The pool was lovely, very family friendly but not too busy. Mary who checked us in was very kind and offered us an upgrade as a gift as we were visiting for our wedding anniversary. We will definitely be back.
Nothing it was a lovely stay.

Everything superb
Furniture was dusty

The hotel is in a great location for walking into the town. It has great views and the rooms have been redecorated to a very nice standard.
I feel like the spa is still a little outdated in comparison to the NI alternatives.
The drinks prices are very high by NI standards. Even in city centre Belfast.

The new decor, and the staff were excellent.
Small points: The bedroom was dark, the lighting was not great. The heating was slightly noisey.

Lovely decor and food
They rang us that evening after dinner when we were in the room to pay for the accommodation instead of leaving it to checkout time the next morning- which I thought was very strange

Beautiful location, rooms and spa. Not far too walk into the town either.
I absolutely loved the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The cooked buffet breakfast could’ve been a little better but still wasn’t bad.

Spa great. New bedroom decor lovely. Perfect surroundings.
Issue with room on first night that meant we had to move. Sorted quickly by helpful reception staff.
Breakfast was disorganised despite coming earlier to avoid rush. Had to ask a few times for tea and toast. American golfer table served constantly however (presumably as they were shouting the loudest)
The cocktail bar full of mainly whiskey cocktails for rich old American golf lads on their ‘oirish’ vacays instead of aiming for a broader appeal is a little short sighted.

Gorgeous hotel. Areas not under renovation were amazing. Suite was beautiful. Location was amazing.
Lost all power for two hours the night we checked in. We lost total power all morning the day we had to check out early to go to the airport. Had to get ready by lights on our iPhones. Told that this was happening regularly during renovations.
Booked an ocean-view room, got a parking-lot / construction debris view.
One of the two main restaurants was closed. Other was full, no availability. Had to dine in a converted lounge with limited menu.

The staff where so friendly and help. Everything was wonderful
6.0
Location good
Staff pleasant but manager not very understanding since there was a problem with rooms not locking and noise issues
Spa facilities very good
Breakfast totally disorganised waiting half hour for a table in a holding area
The level of organisation and management needs to be addressed if that is done a huge difference could be made since it is a lovely building in a lovely location

The property is in a fantastic location with beautiful views of the Newcastle beach and Mourne mountains. The swimming pool is great with a relaxing atmosphere and wonderful views of the locality.
Myself and my husband have stayed at the Slieve Donard on many occasions in the past and have always thoroughly enjoyed our visits. This was our first time staying since the refurbishment and we will not be in any rush back - we were extremely disappointed. Costumer service is at an all time low - we lost track of the number of negative issues we were faced with during our stay. It is such a shame because the Slieve Donard has been one of our favourite hotels for many years however it currently does not live up to its rating as a 4 star hotel.

Had to wait on room
Vegetarian option. For breakfast was poor
