B&B 55 Alghero

B&B 55 was just a short walk down to the old town and beaches and we felt very safe walking back at night after dinner. Our room was large and the air conditioning worked well. Angelo was a very caring host and checked every morning to see if we needed anything. We can’t thank him enough for getting out of bed at 5am in the morning and driving us to the airport after the taxi we ordered didn’t show up! He is such a very kind person!!

- Angelo war ein toller Gastgeber und betreibt das Guest House mit viel Liebe zum Detail und viel Herzblut. Wir haben uns beim Frühstück bestens unterhalten und hilfreiche Tipps zu Kultur, Sehenswürdigkeiten und Restaurant-Tipps erhalten. Selten einen Host mit so viel Herzblut und positiver Ausstrahlung gesehen. - Die Lage ist perfekt - 10 Minuten zu Fuß zum Hafen und in die Altstadt von Alghero mit den engen Gassen und vielen Läden und Restaurants. Mit einem 5-minütigen Spaziergang erreicht man die Promenade mit einigen netten Bars und Kneipen. Der nächste Supermarkt liegt nur 250 Meter die Straße hoch. Kurzum: um Alghero zu erkunden, ist die Unterkunft perfekt. - Aufgrund der Lage am Rande der Innenstadt ist man mit dem Auto auch schnell aus der Stadt raus, was perfekt ist für Ausflüge zu den nahegelegenen Stränden oder etwa nach Bosa und zum Capo Caccia. - Die Strände um Alghero sind sehr schön und bieten tolle Abwechslung. Für die besten Geheimtipps einfach Angelo fragen. - Das Zimmer war einfach, aber mit allem notwendigen ausgestattet, was man für einen kurzen Aufenthalt benötigt. - Die Unterkunft hat zudem einen großen Aufenthaltsraum mit Balkon, den wir aber nur zum Frühstück genutzt haben. Fazit: Wir können Angelo und das Guest House nur wärmstens empfehlen, wenn man Alghero entspannt und ohne den großen touristischen Trubel erkunden möchte. - Für alle, die mit dem Mietwagen anreisen: Parksituation trotz Stadtlage relativ unkompliziert, wir mussten nur einmal länger suchen.

- Einziger Verbesserungsvorschlag ist das Frühstück. Dieses könnte ausgewogener und gesünder sein. Jeden Morgen Schokocroissants, Marmelade und Weißbrot ist auf Dauer etwas eintönig. Es fehlte z.B. frisches Obst und Eier. Ist aber kein Vorwurf an Angelo, da er das Frühstück komplett allein vorbereitet.

We stayed at this B&B from Monday to Friday and had a really wonderful time. The communication with the host was very good from the beginning. We arrived quite early on Monday after a long journey, and the host was very kind and understanding. We were allowed to check in before 12 pm, even though the normal check-in time is 3 pm. This helped us a lot because we could rest in the room after our long journey. The room was very clean, modern and comfortable. The bathroom was also spotless. There was shampoo, shower gel, a hairdryer and enough towels. When we asked for more towels, we got them without any problem. The room was also cleaned during our stay and the bed linen was changed. The air conditioning was very helpful because the weather was very hot. There was also enough space for our clothes. We could hang our beach clothes near the window to dry, which was very useful. The breakfast was also very nice. We usually woke up shortly before 10 am and could enjoy our breakfast in peace. There was fresh tea and coffee, and everything was clean and well prepared. You could also bring or buy your own food, such as cheese or vegetables. I personally have coeliac disease, so I need gluten-free food. When I asked, they kindly bought gluten-free bread, cookies, muffins and croissants especially for me. This made me very happy because this kind of service is not always easy to find in hotels or B&Bs in Germany. I really appreciated their kindness and understanding. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. They even helped us with our suitcases. We also received keys for the main entrance and our room, so we felt very comfortable and independent during our stay. The location was perfect. We could reach many places easily by walking. There is only one small thing that could be improved: a bigger mirror in the bedroom would be nice, in addition to the one in the bathroom. As two girls travelling together, it was sometimes a little difficult to share one mirror.
