DESCRIPTION
Located in the upscale neighborhood of Bird Rock in La Jolla, this home was designed by the owner/architect as a custom-build, with every corner displaying attention to detail.
This luxury vacation rental features three bedrooms, three bathrooms, private gated yards, a bubbling hot tub, and a rooftop lounge with panoramic ocean views. It’s an ideal family retreat.
Inside, an open living room is framed by a wall of windows overlooking the lushly landscaped front yard. Custom leather couches and seating areas create a comfortable space to converse or relax by watching your favorite movie on the large flat screen with full surround sound.
The adjacent dining room offers seating for 8 and the galley kitchen is fully equipped and features custom hardwood cabinetry, stone countertops, and high-end kitchen appliances.
The first of two bedrooms on this level comes with a king-size bed and a convertible leather sofa where you can enjoy the projection screen movie system and glass sliding doors to the backyard.
The second bedroom features a queen-size bed and direct access to a bathroom with a custom glass-enclosed shower.
The Primary Suite is a loft-style room covering the second level of the home, featuring wood-beam ceilings, king-size bed, gas fireplace, sofa seating area and a private patio with an ocean view. This loft space also features Shoji-type screens that open to ocean views or close for more privacy.
Take the spiral staircase to the top level of the home leads to the rooftop deck lounge featuring beautiful views of the ocean and coastal La Jolla and San Diego and is the perfect place to doze in the sun on the oversized lounger then watch the sunset over the ocean!
The backyard features custom lighting to set the mood for each evening’s enjoyment, and features a built-in BBQ and bubbling hot tub.
Additional amenities include WiFi, a koi pond, streaming smart TVs, a full-size washer and dryer, ceiling fans and box fans.

My family and I enjoyed an excellent stay at Tranquility La Jolla. Everyone loved the house. It’s an architectural masterpiece which is hard to capture in the photos. The views of the surrounding neighborhood, hills and sea were beautiful and the grounds and tropical landscape added to the beauty of the place. Communication from the managing company was great and they checked via text daily that all was well and whether we needed any assistance. We easily parked our cars directly in front of the home daily. The furnishings, decor, cleanliness, spa, balconies, views, yards—all top notch. A friend took photos of our graduate at Tranquility and they look like they belong in AD (Architectural Digest). Given the beds and sofa, I thought 6-7 adults might be the sleeping number of persons for adult accommodations though the size of house is larger than for 7 adults. I’m not a large/very tall person (5’7”) but some larger towels would have been better especially for the guys and maybe a few extra towels on hand too. Little things like a spray can of oil for cooking and some basic seasonings are convenient when you travel from far but are small issues compared to the overall experience of our stay. I’m thankful that it was available for our graduation weekend and grateful to have been able to stay at Tranquility. The name is very appropriate. Thanks again to Bluewater for all of your assistance and ensuring that our stay met and exceeded expectations. We’d love to return.

This is a lovely home in a perfect location! Beaches, venues, downtown and La Jolla all within a few miles. The house does not have A/C but we were comfortable with fans and windows open. The hot tub worked great and the beds were comfortable. Parking is on the street only but we were able to find a spot each time we left and returned.

We had a great stay. The property was very clean, and overall design was very nice. The only thing we didn't like was the parking, as only street parking is available. To be fair, we always found a parking space even if it wasn't right in front of the house.

Beautiful property and perfect for our family. The well appointed kitchen made for an easy BBQ dinner. We also enjoyed relaxing in the clean fresh smelling spa during the evening. The front gated yard with the koi pond was a safe exciting experience for my 2 year old grandson to explore . The upstairs bedroom and bath is luxurious with the added look out deck where we enjoyed morning coffee and an evening glass of wine.
